Kids Might Just Have the Swine Flu!!

But not officially,
However, a few people in the home of our last stop have been diagnosed with H1N1, and both of our children have fevers. Bailey's was pretty high. The CDC website states, however, that most recover without hospitilization, just as you would the regular flu; where things get complicated is if you have a pre-existing condition. Also, some of the more severe syptoms of H1N1 haven't affected them. Please pray, however, for a quick recovery.
We finally made contact with Hopewell Mennonite Church in Reading, and helped them to distribute some groceries to those less fortunate. They allowed me to share part of my testimony and share the great news of the gospel. Calvary Baptist Church supplied us with some food they had left over from their annual church carnival, and we were able to help the people at New Journey Methodist Church in downtown Reading. They feed the homeless four times a week. Please be praying for these churches and their work with the downtrodden. We will be heading to Pittsburgh on Monday after I speak at a Sunday service in Reading. A possible stop in Johnstown is still on the table. 1Peter 4:8 tells us to have fervent love for others, in verse 9 it tells us to be hospitable without grumbling, and in verse 10 to use our gifts to minister to one another. This is a challenge we take seriously; see the blessings you can recieve by doing the same. You won't be sorry. You know the saying 'no good deed goes unpunished' - bah humbug! We believe that 'no good deed goes unnoticed by our great God,' for He has created us to do them.

Peace & Grace
Doug & Family
