God's Presence is Abundant in Heislerville

Today we visited Heislerville Methodist Church. Most of the day was spent worshipping our great God. The kids, Carol and I went to Sunday School at 10:00 and then to church at 11:15 where I got the opportunity to speak about Four Disciples Mission. Then at 7:00 we went to a contemporary outreach service ministered by the members of Heislerville Methodist. The response to our mission here was overwhelming. A church in which about 50 people attended today turned out many willing volunteers not only for this week but to even begin a permanent ministry there. The financial support we received from the members (which we didn't ask for) was clear evidence of God's blessings for our obedience. We are shocked (although we shouldn't be) by the fact that we are better taken care of now than we were before we became 'homeless', and we have nobody to thank but God. His encouragement, fellowship and love for us in what we are doing has been shown to us through the hearts of the people we have met here. It just leaves us in awe. It feels like we are truly with family here, and as I said earlier this week in fact we are. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. I can truly say that I have prayed without ceasing this day. The whole of the day was spent either worshipping, praising, talking about and praying to God; for the first time in my life, and it is awesome. Please pray as tomorrow I will have to make many of my contacts via the phone since we are expected to get 8-12" of snowfall. It is for God's glory and it has been, at our first stop, glorious to be working for Him.
Peace & Grace

David said...

Four lepers through Gods grace in Second Kings chapter 6&7 save a nation.
Darkness, desolation, famine. Northern kingdom of Israel. At the gates of the city, four lepers look at their situation,if we stay, we will die, if we go into the city with the famine we will die, if we surrender ourselves to the Aramains that threaten to take over the city, they may kill us and we will die, if they let us live, well, we will at least be alive and they may feed us. They went to surrender. The Lord had caused the Army to hear sounds of a great army coming and fled the camp. The four Lepers came to the empty camp full of food, silver and all the starving nations needs. They, ate, drank and came to the realization they should revealed to the King of the starving nation thier great findings.
God, how marvelous he works to bring about solution in a tragic situation.
What does this have to do with with us now?
Faith, Many of the darkest moments in this world from the people of the church we will see the brightests lights shining. You mention in your mission all of the outreach by Gods people.
All that is happening around this world, through Gods grace and intervention he moves his people to help those who need to see his grace.
Because in through the poverties we face we see that only the Lord can supply us of our needs.

In a grander scale, and without politic.
Our countries struggles now, I believe it is hard to rest at the goings on of our great nation.
Our bankrupt and broken nation will not be saved by money.
When we see the bankruptcy, when we see the helplessness of our own being that is when we turn to seek Gods grace. Gods people, who truly serve him know this.
When we all go to the Lord to meet our needs, Ravi Zacharias states, When we acknowledge that we are broken and depraved, desperate, God will provide in miraculous ways.

To all who love and serve the Lord your rewards will be great.

I need to pray for this and keep the Lord close throughout my whole day.
I need to realize all that I have through the Grace of God and not my own will. I need to listen for Gods will for me, to help spread the knowledge of his grace and glory.

Amen!!!!!
