I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. God is so gracious in blessing us in that we got to spend Christmas and New Year's with family after all. It was the obvious thing to do since the Lord brought us close to family through the work He is doing in Jeff's life (if you don't know who Jeff is, read the previous blog). God used us in a miraculous way by showing Jeff His love through us. We visited Jeff yesterday, and he is doing well. He has commited to the year-long program at Faith Farm in which they will provide him with all the tools needed to have a fruitful life. Among the most important is that they will help him to become a disciple through months of prayer, worship and bible studies. As we attended the church service during our visit, Jeff asked that I go to the altar call with him as he renewed his faith in Christ. It was humbling to be a part of that!
So now it is a bit difficult to know exactly where to go from here. We know God will always direct and provide for us, and at times it's exciting to see what He'll do next, but there is always a little fear in leaving. Do we head north, south, east or west? My first inclination is to stay here, where it is warm; comfort isn't always a bad thing! However, our Lord is never slow to make it clear where He wants us; so if I'm headed the wrong way He'll quickly put us on His course. As I spend the next couple of days seeking God's wisdom and praying for guidance and direction, please be praying for us. Hebrews 12:1 says, "Therefore since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with persevereance the race marked out for us." We love and miss you all.
Peace through Grace
Doug & Family
