Jesus' Lambs; God's People
I would first like to extend an apology for my delay in a recent update. We have been regrouping for our trip out west, and there is not much in the way of news. God, however, is always working. He never takes a break, and has been working on Carol and me to prepare us for what to us is another leap of faith, as we go where we've never been before. We will have a lot less security in that we won't have an abundance of family to meet along the way, and the small abundance in the way of finances aren't there. However, we are no less secure in that our God always supplies us with our needs as we do His work. We are at Pinebrook right now as a last stop before we go about the business of reaching out to the homeless, and may even try to accomplish an outreach here. As I say 'going about the business of reaching the homeless' I am thinking of my reading this morning in the book The Final Question of Jesus: How You Can Live the Answer Today by Joseph M. Stowell. The author eloquently reminds us of Jesus' passion for the most valuable commodity on this planet . . . people! Remember when Jesus, after asking Peter three times if he loved Him, said "then tend My lambs!" Jesus asked Peter three times not because He didn't know the answer, but to make the point that something big was required here. Stowell asks us to picture our wives stating the same question to us, once as a question, then again and again with urgency. We would know that the question was posed for more than peace of mind, but that something deeper was going to happen. I thought this was a great illustration of Jesus' passion for His lambs or His people. Then Stowell goes on to remind us of the people Jesus is talking about: all of us, people that need a healing touch that only we can give. People whose destinies lie in the balance, who will thrive on the gift of our time and attention. People who need to have their past mistakes cancelled and their future given back to them because we have forgiven them. People who need to be loved, not used; blessed not minipulated; prayed for and helped, not slandered. I realize our mission isn't just the homeless but everyone we come into contact with. We are a needy bunch, and we are everywhere. So as we prepare to move out west be praying and showing the love of Christ. I will be updating you all more frequently now so put us in your favorites and continue to see how God works through us. Never squander an opportunity to do your part for God's kingdom and for His glory.

I cannot wait for the moment in which the Lord asks me three times the question. What question that will be i have no presumption, but God has a plan for me, he will make a great servent of me.
What? When? Where? I do not know at this point but until I am sure what that is I am being prepared, cultivated, molded into the person that will serve his purpose not my own. We want to live like a King’s kid now. We want to take full possession of our inheritance now. Yet, our call is to take up our cross and follow in the footsteps of Jesus. To patiently and obediently walk His walk. To learn obedience the same way he did, through suffering We look forward to the rest that awaits us, but now is not the time of rest, though God graciously gives us restful moments. Now is the time of salvation, of the potter’s hand on the clay of our unfired vessel, molding us for the Kingdom, for that glorious future when we will be revealed as the sons of God.
Dear God, give us the patient perseverance we need to keep on the path ahead. By your grace, give us every bit of the grace we need to hold fast to the work that has already been accomplished and the tenacious persistence to continue on, wherever it is that you decide take us.
Amen
